How do bank transfers on Lava work?

Lava offers multiple options for users to on-ramp and off-ramp fiat via bank transfer.

Bank transfers are available to users with bank accounts in eligible regions. Currently this includes USA, Europe, and Mexico. In the near future we will add support for UK, Brazil, Australia, and more. A currency conversion spread is applied to the exchange rate for all withdrawals from USD to a foreign fiat currency.

If bank transfers are not supported in your region, you can still move fiat onto and off of Lava via stablecoins.

Specific transfer options depend on regional availability. When you connect your bank account, you’ll see the options available to you. These include the following:

Same-Day ACH (USD)

Time: Up to 1 business day
Cost: 1.25%
Minimum: 1 USD

Same-day ACH transfers initiated after regular banking hours will not confirm until the following day. If initiated on a Friday, the deposit may not confirm until Monday. If same day ACH isn’t an option, the transaction will be rerouted via next day ACH.

Regular ACH (USD)

Time: 3-5 business days
Cost: Free
Minimum: 1 USD

Wire Transfer (Domestic - USD)

Time: Up to 2 hours after sending
Cost: $25
Minimum: 1 USD

Wire transactions sent after 4:45 PM ET are sent next banking day. Please note that receiving banks may process wires at their own speed.

Note: Wire transfers are only available to select users in certain regions. Please contact our team for more info. Lava currently does not support SWIFT, so USD wires are not available for international users.

SEPA (EUR)

Time: Up to 5 minutes
Cost: Free
Minimum: 1 EUR

SEPA Instant is available 24/7/365, but the beneficiary bank must support SEPA Instant. If the beneficiary bank times out on the request to initiate a SEPA instant payment, the payment will be automatically re-routed on SEPA credit, which can take 1-3 business days.
